Pragyan, the Annual Techno-Managerial fest of NIT Trichy, held Techids 3.0 as part of its social responsibility initiative on October 23, 2024. The event welcomed over 650 students from various government schools, including Government Adi Dravidar Welfare Higher Secondary School, Thiruvasi, and others from Kattur and Chellamal. With a focus on fostering curiosity and inspiring the next generation, Techids 3.0 gave these young minds a glimpse of future possibilities through a rich array of activities and workshops.
The day began with an insightful campus tour from 10 AM to 12 PM, where the students explored key spots like the Central Library and the MiG aircraft. A visit to the Mechanical Lab followed, and one of the event’s highlights was at OJAS, where Nakshatra, the astronomy club, explained the telescope and demonstrated a solar filter. For the thrill-seekers, the PSI Racing club hosted an exhilarating racing event that left the students in awe. Post-lunch, Techids 3.0 was officially inaugurated at 2 PM, followed by a career guidance program by the Ignitte Club for 9th and 10th-grade students, offering personalized mentorship. Meanwhile, other students participated in hands-on workshops hosted by various technical clubs at NIT Trichy. Topics ranged from building differential drive robots (RMI) to understanding product design (Designer’s Consortium) and discovering the basics of automobiles (PSI Racing), alongside real-life applications of math, as taught by Maximus.
Techids 3.0 was a remarkable day filled with learning and inspiration, offering a platform for young students to broaden their horizons and consider future careers in STEM fields. The event’s success lay in its ability to blend hands-on learning with career guidance, shaping the aspirations of students from underprivileged backgrounds. As the saying goes, “Today’s learners are tomorrow’s leaders,” and Techids 3.0 took one giant step toward ensuring that future.
